Lose Weight!

If you need to lose weight, you’ve probably looked at some weight loss diets and groaned in disappointment each time. Some diets claim that you can eat whatever you want as long as you keep your fat intake low. But chances are that they all restrict or forbid something you really enjoy, and you’re not looking forward to going without that favorite food.

You don’t necessarily have to follow a certain restrictive weight loss diet. You can figure out how to eat on your own. The first step is to look at how you’ve been eating. If your diet is healthy overall but you’ve been eating too many calories, then you might not even need to change the way you eat but instead increasing your daily exercise could be enough to help you lose weight.

If your diet needs an adjustment to become a healthy eating weight loss plan, though, you should look at the parts of your diet that seem unhealthy and adjust them. If you make too big a change from the way you like to eat, you’re setting yourself up to be unhappy with your new diet plan. Instead, try to incorporate the things you enjoy into your new plan.

Your healthy eating weight loss plan might not be able to include doughnuts 3 or 4 times a week like you’ve been eating. But the occasional doughnut as a treat might be acceptable if it fits within your allotted calories for that day. Or look for substitutes. A whole grain bagel with fruit-flavored low-fat cream cheese, for instance, is a sweet treat that you could enjoy instead of a doughnut.

If you eat a lot of sweets like chocolate, you can still enjoy them in moderation. Dark chocolate can be part of a healthy eating weight loss plan and contains more antioxidants that many fruits and vegetables. So try dipping some of your favorite fruits like bananas or strawberries in some high-quality melted dark chocolate for a powerful anti-oxidant punch that should satisfy your sweet tooth.

If you need to lose weight, almost any unhealthy treats you’re use to having can be substituted with a healthier food that gives you at least some of the satisfaction of the unhealthy treat. Mashed cauliflower instead of buttery mashed potatoes, thin-crust vegetable pizza instead of take-out and other tricks can make your healthy eating weight loss plan more enjoyable.

A Flat Stomach Fast!

Posted by: admin In: flat stomach

stomachabsIf you want the skinny on getting a flat stomach then keep reading because I have the plan for you, and best of all it’s easy to follow. This plan will help your slim down your middle, tone up and get some ab definition just like the stars. And best of all you’ll start seeing noticeable results in just two weeks.

Before I tell you the secret you need to know that just doing sit-ups doesn’t cut it. Ab exercises don’t get rid of any fat on your belly or abdominal area so now matter how many crunches you do, you are not going to get a flat stomach. All you are really doing is strengthening your core muscles underneath by doing sit-ups, which is important, but isn’t going to get you a toned tummy.

Instead what you need to be doing is cardio to burn the fat. That’s why you’ll see athletes who focus on high intensity cardio type events such as runners and sprint swimmers with great toned bodies – they’ve lost the fat and therefore the muscle definition can come through.

Low intensity cardio such as jogging is ok, but isn’t going to get you there fast enough so you really need to be doing something that will really get the fat melting off.

The best form of cardio exercises is anything that combines high and low intensity bursts of energy. The stationary bike or treadmill is perfect for this. A good high intensity fat burning ratio to get a flat stomach fast is sprinting for around 8 seconds followed by a 30 second slower recovery. Keep alternating between sprint and recovery for a total of 20 minutes every second day.

Follow this plan and within two weeks you will have a flat stomach super fast.

What Do You Do If You Can’t Lose Weight?

Posted by: admin In: lose weight

When you are trying to lose weight it can seem if the whole world around you is slim and healthy and you are the only one who can’t seem to lose weight. I know because I used to feel like that too. I’ve heard many people say the same thing – that no matter what they try they just can’t seem to drop any unwanted pounds and lose the weight. Well you may be right that you haven’t been able to do it in the past, but I’m hear to tell you that you CAN drop those pounds – you just need to find the right way for you.

You see the reason there are so many diets and plans out there is because different things work for different people and while one person can seem to melt the fat away on one diet, it won’t work for everyone. Ok so you probably know this already and you’ve come to this article looking for answers instead of me telling you the background on diets, so right now you want to know how is this going to help you?

What you need to do: Look at your diet carefully

Many people just assume that because they are eating healthy foods or have given up that late night candy bar that the weight will miraculously drop off but in reality they often have no idea how many calories they are actually consuming in a day so the first step in working out why you can’t lose weight is to take a good look at your current diet plan.

Don’t forget your drinks as many times these are high in calories and you don’t even realize you are consuming such a high number. A good way to keep track of your calories during the day is to keep a diary and write down everything you eat or drink and add up the amount at the end of each day.

If your diet could so with a few adjustments then make those and try again. If you feel that the calories you are eating are low enough to let you burn fat but still the right amount to stay healthy then perhaps it is the types of foods you are choosing.

If your diet contains a lot of flour, pasta, potatoes and breads it could be possible that you don’t metabolism carbohydrates very well and you may need to look at a low carb diet and see if that helps you get back on track. On the other hand, if your diet is already low carb, have a look at the other types of foods you are consuming. Many low carb diets are actually high in fat with lots of red meat, butter and oil and all that fat could be adding padding to your booty and not helping you lose weight.

A good diet should contain lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, lean meats, some dairy and the occasional treat. It should also contain enough calories to keep your metabolism high. If you have cut out too much food it could be that you have put yourself into starvation mode and your body is trying to cling to any bit of food it can. If this is the case you need to kick start that metabolism by exercising more and consuming enough calories to get your body back in optimum performance.

If after all your detective work you still can’t seem to work out why you are not losing weight, perhaps it’s time to see a doctor to rule out any issues that could be preventing you from losing weight.

It sounds so easy – just take a pill and you’ll be able to lose that weight and be super slim again, but alas things aren’t as simple as they appear to be. While some weight loss drugs do work many have been proven to be very dangerous. They work by suppressing your appetite so you don’t feel hungry with the idea that if you are not hungry you won’t want to eat. Of course many times people overeat for other reasons than hunger, they eat for boredom, to heal emotions or sometimes just because the food is there in front of them.

Over the counter weight loss drugs that you can purchase without a doctor’s prescription should be looked at with care. Many times these drugs are not as effective as they claim and can even compromise your health so make sure you read the information enclosed carefully for safety precautions.

And then of course there are the diet pills that work only if you are on a low fat low calorie diet. Which is ironic because going on a low fat low calorie diet will make you lose weight, so what do the pills do? It begs the question whether the pills are really responsible for the weight loss or the diet plan is helping you drop those pounds.

Prescription weight loss medication are similar to the over the counter versions in that they help you feel full and take away the urge to binge, but like all drugs there are risks and side effects associated with many different brands so make sure you follow your doctors advice carefully and inform him if you are experiencing any side effects.

Some of the more extreme side effects from taking weight loss pills are hypertension, high blood pressure, heart attack, psychosis and depression. There have also been cases with some weight loss drugs where people have died both with over the counter and prescription medications which begs the question is your life and health worth the risk just to feel less hungry.

Herbal remedies are also popular as weight loss remedies but these are drugs too and should be treated with the same caution as other medicines. Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it is safe, or even works as claimed.

Overall you need to be very careful if you are considering weight loss drugs or pills. Make sure you get medical advice and make your own judgments whether they are right for you or not.

There are a number of new weight loss medications available on the market today. However, these drugs are not intended for the average person who has an extra 10 pounds to lose before their wedding. Prescription weight loss medications are designed for people who are significantly obese or have weight-related medical problems that must be corrected quickly to prevent further complications. Here is a basic guide to determining if weight loss drugs may be right for you. Of course, you must always consult your doctor for a thorough evaluation and prescription.

There are certain guidelines concerning who may be prescribed weight loss medications. A patient must have a body mass index that is over 30, unless they have other obesity-related health conditions such as heart problems, diabetes, or high blood pressure. These severe medical conditions lower the body mass index requirement to 27. Whether or not a medical condition is obesity-related and grounds for prescribing medication can depend on the doctor, so get a second opinion if you disagree with your doctor’s assessment. These health problems can become severe if left unchecked and prescription weight loss medications may be the answer you have been looking for.

The most common weight loss medications work by suppressing the appetite. These types of diet aids have been around for decades, with amphetamines and Dexedrine being used even back in the 1950s. A new type of appetite suppressant drugs use a slightly different mechanism to achieve the same result, reducing their appeal for abuse. For example, the popular drug Meridia inhibits the release of a certain type of brain chemical that is responsible for signaling hunger. This way, the patient never even gets hungry, so there is no feeling of depriving themselves of something they want. Unfortunately, Meridia is known to increase blood pressure and heart rate, making it unsafe for many people with cardiovascular issues.

Besides the weight loss medications that suppress appetite, there is another class of drugs designed to interfere with the body’s ability to absorb fat from food. Xenical was the first of these lipase inhibitor medications to be approved, hitting the market in 1999. These drugs work by inhibiting the body’s production of lipase, which is a necessary part of the fat absoprtion process. Without this enzyme, fat molecules cannot be broken down and will pass harmlessly through the digestive system. The side effects of Xenical show the drawback to letting fat leave the body in its unprocessed state, with cramps, flatulence, diarrhea, and anal leakage being the most common.

Testing is always being performed on new drugs for the commercial markets, so it is only a matter of time before there are better options for people wishing to lose weight. Some developmental medicines have received short-term FDA approval, but they have shown too many side effects to be approved for mainstream use at this time. With some more refining by the pharmaceutical companies’ research and development departments, they should be available as part of the next wave of prescription weight loss medications.
