Keeping your willpower while you are trying to lose weight usually goes something like this. First week, you are pumped and do everything right, second week you sneak in a chocolate bar or two and by the third week you are starting to cave and drop the diet altogether.
If that sounds like you then help is at hand. Here are some great motivation tips to keep your weight loss goals fresh and your willpower strong.
1. Presents
Rewarding yourself with small gifts along the journey will keep your spirits high and keep you motivated longer. Make sure you go the whole hog and wrap them with pretty paper and ribbon too. Put the wrapped present somewhere you can see it everyday and when you reach your mini goal (such as lose 10% of your weight, or exercise every day for a week), go ahead and open it – you’ve earned it.
2. Show off your shape
Many people avoid buying clothes while they are losing weight preferring to wait until they finally reach the end, but this can sometimes be a mistake because you are stuck in old baggy clothes that no longer fit you.
Buying fashionable clothes that flatter your shape where you are right now will help keep your on track because you will be able to see your progress and show off your figure from start to finish. Plus who doesn’t like to go shopping? That’s a motivator if ever I saw one.
3. Socialize with likeminded people
Whether you have a real life buddy who will join you or you prefer to join a club (either real or online) with others that are losing weight, this can really help you stay sane while the weight drops off. These people know exactly what you are going through and won’t try and sabotage your diet like well meaning husbands can.
